Q.With the AZ Series, why does the motor not run continuously (does not move) even when the FW-JOG-P or RV-JOG-P input is turned ON?
FW-JOG-P or RV-JOG-P is the signal for inching operation, which is "positioning by the set travel amount." Therefore, continuous operation is not possible. (The initial value for the travel amount is 1 step, so it may appear as if the motor not moving.)
For continuous operation, use the FW-JOG or RV-JOG.

For operations related to continuous operation, please refer to the following table.
| Name | Signal Name | Operation |
|---|---|---|
| Inching operation |
FW-JOG-P RV-JOG-P |
When the signal is turned from OFF to ON, 1 step (initial value) of positioning operation is performed. |
| JOG Operation |
FW-JOG RV-JOG |
While the signal is ON, the motor runs with continuous operation in one direction at the (JOG) operating speed. |
| High-speed JOG operation |
FW-JOG-H RV-JOG-H |
While the signal is ON, the motor runs with continuous operation at high speed in one direction at the (JOG) operating speed (high). |
| Combined JOG operation |
FW-JOG-C RV-JOG-C |
While the signal is ON, the operation transitions in order through "inching operation" → "JOG operation" → "high-speed JOG operation." |
| Continuous Operation |
FW-POS RV-POS |
While the signal is ON, the motor runs with continuous operation at the operating speed of the selected operation data number. |
| Speed Control Operation |
FW-SPD RV-SPD |
While the signal is ON, the motor runs with continuous operation at the operating speed of the selected operation data number. (This is basically the same as continuous operation, but the conditions that cause the alarm in the pushing state are different.) |
|
Speed Control Push-Motion Operation |
FW-JOG-PSH RV-JOG-PSH |
While the signal is ON, the motor runs with continuous operation at the operating speed of the selected operation data number. (This is basically the same as continuous operation, but the alarm is not triggered in the pushing state and it continues pressurizing with a fixed torque.) |
- *For details of each signal, refer to the chapter "Macro Operation" in the Operating Manual (AZ Series function edition).
