Q.When using a stepper motor (including αSTEP) with a built-in controller type with Modbus control, can multiple axes be started simultaneously?
There are two ways to start multiple axes simultaneously.
(1) Use group transmission
Only specified multiple slaves can run simultaneously.
A group transmission consists of 1 parent slave and child slaves.
If you register the number of the slave address of the parent slave in the "group" command (address 0030h) of the child slave, the child slave will also be able to receive commands received by the parent slave.
Only the parent slave will return a response, the child slaves will not return a response.
If you want to move them individually, write "-1" in the "Group" command of the child slave.
(2) Use the broadcast mode.
All axes can be moved simultaneously.
If slave address 0 is specified in the master, the command can be sent to all slaves.
The slave executes the process, but does not reply with a response.
