Q.The START signal on the AZ Series is turned ON, but it does not work. There are no alarms or information, but what should I check?

A.

For the motor to run, it must be in the following conditions. Check:

  • The motor cable is connected.
If the encoder cable is connected and the motor cable is not connected, the alarm will not activate.
Turn the power supply OFF and connect the motor cable.
  • The START signal is ON in the internal I/O monitor of the support software MEXE02
Check that the output from the customer's side reaches the driver.
  • The START signal is OFF and the READY signal is ON.
If the READY signal is OFF, possible causes include an operation command other than the START signal has been entered, or the main power supply is OFF.
Refer to the following FAQ for READY signal ON conditions.

Q570. The READY output (operation ready output) does not turn ON in AZ Series. How do I turn it ON?

  • The operation data number displayed on the status monitor of MEXE02 matches the intended operation data number.
If the wrong operation data number is selected, it may not work.
  • MEXE02 operation data with position, speed, and other values.
If you execute 0 step in incremental positioning or the same position data as the current position in absolute positioning, the motor will not move.
If the acceleration time is too long, it may not be possible to visually confirm the movement.
  • There is a change in command position or feedback position in the status monitor of MEXE02.
If there is a change but it does not work, please check the following:

    • If the travel amount is small or the speed is slow, visual confirmation may not be possible.
    • There may be slippage on the mechanism side, such as a loose coupling.
